Branching out: AJG in Dubbo

22 Aug 2016

Kylie Hull, Branch Manager of Arthur J. Gallagher Dubbo, took five to share a slice of insurance broking life from country NSW.

Size of team: 11, with an age range from their 20s up to their 60s. Our combined wealth of knowledge and experience spans more than 100 years, with our Senior Account Executive in broking for more than 40 years. I have been in the Dubbo branch since 1995 and in the insurance industry for over 25 years.

Specialties: Being a rural branch we specialise in rural insurances such as farm, crop, multi-peril crop, home, contents, landlords and motor, but we have expertise in commercial, liability, hospitality, construction, mining and plant & equipment insurance as well. We also have strong capability in emerging risks, including management liability, cyber and corporate travel. So a pretty diverse range!

Most interesting thing your team has been asked to insure?

All sorts! Within the team we’ve had to find insurance for mining operations and workers compensation for a client in Mauritania and recently clients branching into China is an interesting one.

What’s the best aspect of working at your branch?

I hands down without question love my job! I love the people I work with, my customers and my community. I have been looking after some of my customers since I began my career back in 1989.

AJG Dubbo in particular has a great team. We take the approach of really trying to partner with and inform our clients about the risks they face, and ask them the right questions and giving them the right information so they can make an informed decision about the insurance that’s right for them. Everyone wins in that equasion.
