The yellow-clad HR sporting demi-gods beat off the stiff challenge of Finance, Schemes & Affinities (FINSA) and Marketing & Strategy in the seven-discipline event to claim bragging rights for the next four years following a fast and furious afternoon of sporting high-jinks and questionable OHS.
Setting out their stall from the start, HR's Minion-clad flag was voted the best of the bunch from the seven teams involved. They also medalled in the Desk Chair Sprint Relay (Silver), Foosball (Bronze) and Archery (Gold) to snare top spot overall.
FINSA's prowess in Desk Chair Sprint Relay (Gold), Table Tennis (Gold) and The Plank (Silver), saw them pip a luckless Marketing & Strategy team to the overall Silver.
Marketing & Strategy, meanwhile, medalled in Desk Chair Relay (Bronze); 30-Second Post-It Note Stick (Silver), Archery (Silver) and The Plank (Gold) to secure their place on the rostrum.
The highlight of the AJG Olympics was the final event, which saw each team represented in a gruelling battle to see who could hold 'The Plank' position for longest. In a thrilling face-off, Marketing & Strategy kingpin Jurgen 'Iron Man' Rammesmayer outlasted Kelly Atkin of FINSA to land Gold, planking for a superhuman 8 minutes.
A great afternoon had by all with the team bringing point number 19 from The Gallagher Way to life: We're a very competitive and aggressive company.
